US3.67Billion or US7.12 Billion? The 2026 Electric Toothbrush Market Depends on Who You Ask
Six research firms have published a 2026 estimate for the global electric toothbrush market, and they do not agree. The published figures run from US7.12 billion, according to Market Research Future — a spread of US$3.45 billion, or roughly 1.9 times between the lowest and highest number on the market.
Growth expectations diverge less than levels do: the CAGR estimates cluster between 4.7% and 8.1%. For an importer writing a 2027 buying plan, that is the more usable signal. Nobody credibly expects the category to shrink, and nobody credibly expects it to double in a year.

Why the numbers do not reconcile
The base years differ. Grand View Research anchors on US3.81 billion and US$6.55 billion respectively. A 2025 baseline roughly 72% higher than a rival's cannot be reconciled by growth-rate assumptions alone.
The end horizons differ too — 2030 for Grand View Research and The Business Research Company, 2031 for Mordor Intelligence, 2034 for Fortune Business Insights, 2036 for Future Market Insights. Longer horizons mechanically produce larger terminal numbers, which can flatter the apparent growth story.
What the headline figures do not disclose is whether each firm counts the same things: replacement heads, app-connected devices, professional-channel sales, or complete units only. Scope cannot be verified from the summary numbers, so the divergence is as much a definitional artefact as a disagreement about demand. Market-share splits were not part of the figures reviewed here and should not be inferred.

The children's segment carries the fastest growth rate in the set at 8.1%, according to Dataintelo. The app layer grows faster on paper at 10.3%, but it measures software and connectivity rather than hardware units, and should not be added to a device forecast.
In water flossers, Grand View Research has US2.5 billion by 2033 at 7.8%, while Persistence Market Research has US2.2 billion by 2033 at 5.3%. Same starting point, different arrival.
What a distributor should do with divergent forecasts
• Plan on the CAGR band, not the level.
A 4.7%–8.1% range is narrow enough to model replenishment; a US$3.45 billion level spread is not.
• Triangulate at least three firms and record each base year
So a bullish number can be identified as a demand call or a vintage artefact.
• Segment the plan.
Children's brushes, water flossers and the app layer grow at different rates off different bases; one blended assumption will misallocate inventory.
• Watch the participant list.
The Business Research Company's report, updated July 8, 2026, lists Philips Sonicare, Oral-B, Colgate-Palmolive, Panasonic, Waterpik, Quip, usmile and Oclean among 21 named participants; Market Research Future adds Foreo, Xiaomi and Unilever. That mix of multinational consumer-health groups and Asian specialist suppliers is stable across the reports, whatever the market size turns out to be.
Suppliers in that mid-market band include Zhejiang-based OEM/ODM manufacturer Charmhome, which lists ISO 13485, CE and FCC certification and supplies adult and children's sonic and rotating brushes to European and US distributors.
